Leaf Farms
We have over 200Ha of leaf farms in Wiltshire and Kent. We manage many areas on these farms for wildlife.
We plant bird food margins to provide winter food for farmland birds, including tree sparrows, yellowhammers and turtle doves.
With the possibility of turtle doves visiting our Kent farm, we will be working on plans to help them on their way. Turtle dove numbers have declined by over 90% since the 1970s so we are privileged to be able to play our part in saving the species.
Nectar and pollen areas are planted and maintained to provide a food source for many insects and this also promotes increases in beneficial species for natural pest control.
As with all our sites, the wildlife work we carry out is linked into the wider countryside.
