Vitacress introduces new Assistant Environment Manager on Earth Day
To celebrate Earth Day, we’d like to introduce you to our new Assistant Environment Manager, Glyndwr Jones.
At Vitacress, we know how important it is to Invest in our Planet, which is this year's theme, so we’ve created a new role which will specialise in sustainable water management to ensure high quality rivers and streams in and around our site.
Why do you think your role is important to Vitacress and the environment?
Water is an important resource for Vitacress, we rely on it for growing and washing our produce. It is vital to safeguard this resource and use it sustainably so that we can continue to operate whilst having minimal environmental impact.
What will a typical day look like for you?
A typical day involves monitoring water quality to ensure Vitacress remains compliant with its licences and ensures the health of the aquatic environments.
What attracted you to this profession and Vitacress?
As a keen outdoorsman and general nature lover it, it is great to see Vitacress’ commitment to the environment; especially in their goals to minimise their impacts on highly biodiverse chalk stream habitats.
It is an opportunity to integrate my appreciation for natural environments and interest in sustainable management of resources.
